3 Tips for a Healthy Fall

Fall is one of our favorite times of year and now that the season has officially begun, we’re excited to embrace everything! Autumn is such a wonderful season because it lends itself to a healthy lifestyle and staying active.

We believe it’s how you live that matters at Foxridge and making the best healthy choices this season is important. If you’re not sure where to start, don’t worry. We’ve got you covered! Here are our top three tips for a healthy fall:

Have Fun Outdoors

Our community boasts miles of walking trails and open green spaces. Get outside for some longer walks and be enveloped by our beautiful natural surroundings. Don’t forget about the basketball and tennis courts too! 

Enjoy the Colors

You don’t just have to stick to our community, though. The New River Valley is beautiful and there are amazing parks for hiking and biking nearby. Spend time outdoors and marvel at nature’s colorful transformation this fall.

Go Local and Fresh

Making healthy decisions isn’t just about prioritizing exercise and staying active. Making smart food choices is crucial too. Luckily, farmer’s markets abound with fresh fruits and veggies this time of year. Lots of healthy root vegetables and leafy greens are in season. Don’t forget about apples too. Perfect in fall, they are packed with antioxidants and flavonoids, which can reduce cholesterol.
