The worst-kept secret in Blacksburg is finally out.
If you live in an apartment in Blacksburg, VA then you already know the big news. Country music singer Brad Paisley will begin his "Country Nation College Tour" with a free show in Blacksburg on Virginia Tech's campus Sept. 6, the night before the Hokies' much-anticipated football season opener against Ohio State.
The concert will be held in the Cassell Coliseum lot, with the opening act taking the stage at 8 p.m. Paisley will play at 9.
“Hokie Nation supports us with tremendous passion and dedication,” Virginia Tech athletic director Whit Babcock said in a statement. “The opportunity to bring a Grammy award-winning artist like Brad Paisley to the Virginia Tech campus is great way to thank our great fans and kick off an amazing weekend. We appreciate IMG helping make this memorable event possible.”
Paisley's a college football fan. He's appeared ESPN's "College GameDay" as a guest picker at West Virginia. This will be his second visit to Southwest Virginia this year. In May, he headlined the Blue Ridge Music Festival in Salem.
